GROWING FORWARD: LESSONS IN BOLD ADULTHOOD FROM 1 TIMOTHY
Our study this Fall focuses on the letter of 1 Timothy, using Paul’s instructions to a ‘young professional’ to consider our own call to Christian adulthood.  In our society of blurring benchmarks for adulthood, what does it mean today to grow forward, accept responsibility, and take on a leader role?  Join us as we consider the call not simply to 'grow up' but to 'grow forward.'
Wednesdays, 7 to 9 pm.  Subscribe to e-mail for more info, meeting locations, and directions.

Retreat Spread
DEEP FALL RETREAT
September 20-October 2, 2011 at Ridge Haven in Brevard, NC.
Registration Deadline: Sunday, September 18

THE WEEKEND: ‘Upscale rustic’ accommodations!  Opportunity to reflect, connect, throw a frisbee, explore a waterfall, sing, go deep, rest well, play hard.  And we’ll be throwing in a rafting adventure down the French Broad River on Saturday afternoon (a $50 value at no additional charge...).  Ridge Haven Retreat Center has great value-adds: basketball, volleyball, tennis, fishing, hiking trails, and more.

THE THEME: A Place at the Table.  A reconciling God prepares a place for a sinner to dine with royalty, for an enemy to be called family.  We’ll be exploring how that ‘place’ can become the avenue to a deeper relationship, and to our deepest contentment.  We encourage you to take the opportunity to reflect, learn, worship, and ponder your true status as a pursued child of God.

THE SPEAKER: Harrison Spitler.  Harrison is the founding pastor of Grace Community Church in Marvin, North Carolina.  He’s a graduate of Auburn and of Birmingham Theological Seminary, and holds a doctorate from Covenant Theological Seminary.  He and his wife Sandy have six kids, and are passionate about foreign adoption, and how it exemplifies our Heavenly Father’s radical pursuit of us.

THE COST: $80.  Why so cheap?  It’s magic.
A $50 deposit is due with signup.  Balance due on arrival.
